In a nutshell…Shawn M. Mitchell was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 12, 1972. He first started playing the piano and flute when he was 7 years old and the guitar at age 14. His Musical Career took a major turn in 1987, when he moved with his parents to Elizabeth City, North Carolina. It was here that Shawn developed an attraction to the Blues. Sitting in with Blues Legend, “Rockin’” Willie Williams, as well as Chet Atkins’ Protégé, Claymon Sawyer and even the master himself! Shawn learned the ins and outs of his spiritually assigned instrument, the guitar. Fascinated with the folklore of the Blues, Shawn set out to make a pact with forces that be in his early Music Career. He gained local notoriety, playing many events and festivals in Elizabeth City. In 1990, Shawn started a downward spiral in his life, experiencing hard times of poverty, relationship issues, and homelessness. He slowly recovered, and in 1997 put his Music in the forefront of his life, forming the Rock Band, Vertigo Haze and opening for Joey Molland's Badfinger. In 2008, Vertigo Haze disbanded and Shawn started a solo career in the Music World. Shawn’s Guitar Abilities have been said to be “God-like”, in the aspect of connecting with your spirit, speaking to your soul. He commands the stage and the crowd on a magical level, leaving his audience with a hunger for more.
